What this statement covers
This statement covers the public pages of biobloomlife.com: the home page, About, Research and its articles, the test menu and each test page, and our privacy, terms and accessibility pages (29 pages in all). It does not cover the clinic, laboratory and BioBloom portals used by our partners’ staff, or the patient questionnaire pages opened from a personal link.
Our commitment
BioBloom Life is committed to making this website usable by the widest possible audience, including clinicians, patients, and partners who rely on assistive technologies. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and we treat accessibility as part of every design and engineering decision rather than an audit step at the end.
Compliance status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This means that some parts do not yet fully meet the standard. They are listed under known issues below.
What works well
- Keyboard use. Every page starts with a “Skip to content” link, every link and control can be reached with the Tab key in a logical order, each shows a visible focus outline, and we found no keyboard traps. On a phone, the menu closes with the Escape key and returns you to the Menu button.
- Structure. One main heading on each page, headings in order, landmark regions, tables with headers, and form fields linked to their labels.
- Colour contrast. Text and the edges of controls meet the WCAG 2.2 Level AA contrast ratios on every page we tested.
- Images. Meaningful images have text alternatives; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Small screens and zoom. Every page reflows to a width of 320 pixels without sideways scrolling.
- Motion. Nothing on the pages moves or animates; only colours and underlines change when you point at or move to a link or button.
- Forms. Errors are explained in plain language and announced to screen readers, not shown by colour alone.
Known issues
This part of the website does not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA:
- Single-key shortcut (success criterion 2.1.4). On the test menu and the research page, pressing the “/” key moves the cursor to the search box. The shortcut does nothing while you are typing in a field, but it cannot be turned off or changed, which can get in the way of speech input.
Content outside our control
Research papers and databases we link to (for example PubMed and DOI links) are governed by those providers’ own accessibility standards.
How we tested
We tested all 29 pages ourselves on 28 September 2026, using a copy of the site built and served on our own computer:
- an automated check with axe-core 4.13 against the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 Level A and AA rules, at desktop (1280 and 1024 pixels wide), tablet (768 pixels wide) and phone (390 pixels wide) sizes;
- a keyboard check of every page: the skip link, tab order, visible focus, whether focused items are hidden, and keyboard traps, plus opening and closing the phone menu with the keyboard;
- a check that every page reflows at 320 pixels wide.
Automated tools find only some accessibility problems. We have not yet had an independent audit, or tested with people who use screen readers or other assistive technology.
Reporting an accessibility issue
If you encounter content on this site that is difficult to use with your assistive technology, or that falls short of the standards above, we want to hear from you. Email enquiries@biobloomlife.com with the subject line “Accessibility”, describing the page, the issue, and the assistive technology you were using. If you need information from this website in a different format, ask us in the same way. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two working days and to provide a remediation plan or workaround within ten working days.
