About these terms
This website and the clinic and laboratory portals are run by BioBloom Life Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17021036), whose registered office is Silverstream House, 45 Fitzroy Street, London, W1T 6EB (“we” or “us”). These terms apply when you use the website or a portal. By using them you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website or the portals.
A service for clinicians
BioBloom Life is a reproductive genomics laboratory service for fertility and gynaecology clinics. Tests are ordered only by a clinician at a partner clinic, for that clinic’s patients; they are not available directly to patients. We provide the testing service to the clinic, on the terms agreed between us and that clinic, which cover samples, results, reports, fees and our responsibilities for them. These terms do not govern the testing service, and if the clinic’s terms and these terms conflict, the clinic’s terms apply.
A description of a test on this website is information about our menu. It does not mean that every clinic can order every test; the tests a clinic can order are those shown in its portal.
Information on this website
The information on this website is educational and is not a substitute for clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Test results must be interpreted by a qualified specialist in the context of the patient’s full clinical picture. BioBloom Life does not provide diagnosis, prescribe treatment, or communicate results directly to patients. We take care over the content, but it may contain errors or omissions and may change without notice as the evidence base evolves. Where we describe published research, the limitations of those studies apply; we link to the primary sources so they can be read in full.
Portal accounts
Access to the clinic and laboratory portals is limited to authorised users of partner organisations, each with their own named account. Account holders must keep their sign-in details confidential, use multi-factor authentication, and access only the data their role and organisation allow. Your organisation must tell us promptly when someone leaves or no longer needs access. We may suspend an account that puts patient data at risk, or while we investigate a security concern.
Acceptable use of the portals
When you use a portal you agree:
- not to share your account or let anyone else sign in as you;
- to identify patients by clinic reference or code, and not to type patient names, contact details or relatives’ details into notes or other free-text fields;
- to enter only information that is accurate and that you are entitled to share with us, with the patient’s consent where the test requires it;
- not to download, copy or export patient data except for the care of that patient or a data protection request, and to keep anything you download secure;
- not to probe, test or get round our security or access controls, upload harmful code, or use automated tools to collect data from the portals;
- to tell us straight away at enquiries@biobloomlife.com if you think an account or patient data may have been misused or exposed.
Portal activity is recorded so that we can keep patient data secure. See our privacy policy.
Questionnaire links
If you agreed to our research follow-up, we email you a personal questionnaire link. It is for you alone: please do not forward it. It expires after 90 days. Taking part is optional; our privacy policy explains how your answers are used and how to withdraw.
Availability
We aim to keep the website and the portals available, but we do not guarantee that they will always be available or free of faults. We may suspend access for maintenance, updates or security reasons.
Intellectual property
The BioBloom Life name, logo, written content, and editorial illustrations on this site are the property of BioBloom Life Ltd. Citations of peer-reviewed research are attributed to their original authors and journals; copyright in those works rests with the respective publishers.
Links to other websites
Links to other websites, such as journals and research databases, are for your information. We are not responsible for their content.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law of England and Wales does not allow us to limit or exclude.
Our responsibilities for the testing service are those agreed with the clinic. Otherwise, we are not liable for any loss that arises from relying on information on this website, for loss of profit, business or opportunity, or for any indirect loss.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when our service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will tell portal users about significant changes before they take effect.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with our website, the portals or our service, email enquiries@biobloomlife.com with “Complaint” in the subject line, or write to us at the address above. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it and reply in writing. If you are a patient, concerns about your care are best raised with your clinic first, and they may pass them to us. For complaints about how we handle personal data, see our privacy policy.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
